Unfortunately, at this time we can only offer spots to children enrolled in the Longwood
School District.
December 2024 to March 2025. Since there are many holidays in that time frame, and weather can always be a factor we try to plan ahead. We only have access to one gym, so we have to design our schedules to make sure all 3 divisions get their time.
We hold practices and games during the week (MONDAY - FRIDAY) from 6:30-7:30 pm or 7:30- 8:30 pm. All games are held at Ridge Elementary School. Typically, the youngest division/grades (1-2) will play the earlier time slot, and the 2 older divisions/grades (3&4, 5&6) could play in either time slot.
1st & 2nd Graders are in the gym once a week.
3rd & 4th, and 5th & 6th Graders are in the gym one to two times per week. They have practices and games.
We are not in the gym on weekends, holidays, or any time the school closes early for weather or other emergencies.
Yes, we try our best to accommodate those requests. If there is a conflict, please let us know on the application under "medical/additional information" box on the registration form. If we cannot accommodate your request after you make us aware of the schedule conflict, and the season hasn't started yet we will refund you if you have already paid.
In the event a game is cancelled it will be made up. Practices are not rescheduled unless we have room on the calendar to accommodate it.
NO. Please remove any and all jewelry prior to playing. They can get hurt, jewelry can break and get lost. If they are wearing any jewelry, they will be told to go to the sidelines and take it off and can return once it has been removed. We are not responsible for lost or stolen jewelry, or any injuries sustained from your child wearing it during play.
We ask parents to bring a basketball for your child's practice with your child's name clearly written on it. We are not responsible if your child loses their ball, or any other personal belongings brought to the gym. This includes clothing, water bottles, any electronic equipment, book bags, gym bags. Anything left behind is placed in the corridor off the gym.
Good nonslip, sneakers are a must to make sure your child doesn't get hurt while running on the gym floors. Please, no flat-bottomed sneakers should be worn while playing.
Shorts are preferred as the gym is usually warm before the kids even start playing. Whether they play in shorts or sweatpants, please, NO POCKETS! No matter how hard we try, at some point every child will eventually put their hands in their pockets while on the gym floor and will get hit with the ball because they are not ready to catch.
For game days, bringing a basketball to the gym is not necessary.
No. You must be on the grounds when your child is in the building in the event your child gets hurt/ill. It is your responsibility to ensure your child has proper supervision from a trusted adult/guardian while in the gym.
Parent/Guardian is 100% responsible for bringing your child to and from the gym. We do not provide transportation.
Beverages are allowed with caps, lids, covers. There is ABSOLUTLEY NO FOOD allowed in the gym. This is a Longwood District rule that must be adhered to at all times.
No, we are not. We are an independent organization that has been operating our league in the Longwood Schools for 18 years. We are not affiliated with or otherwise an extension of the Longwood CSD, or any other organizations that use the Longwood Schools.
